Background
Oxford Management & Research (OMR) was founded by Dr Steve Simister in 1998. Dr Simister has worked in project management for over 20 years, in both a professional and academic capacity.
Dr Simister founded OMR because he wanted to work more closely with clients to ensure they got the best from their project management systems.

Oxford and North Hinksey
Oxford is best know as a university city
but it is also where the new BMW Mini is built.
OMR is located some 3 kilometers to the west of Oxford in an area called North Hinksey. West Oxford is situated in the Thames flood plain and the area includes a section of the main river as well as a bewildering network of side streams and ditches. In Anglo-Saxon times, the first settlers in West Oxford looked for slightly higher ground in this watery landscape and the suffix -ey in the place names such as Hinksey derives from the Old English word for an island.
